Prosocial motivation as a mediator between dispositional mindfulness and prosocial behavior

Researchers have theorized that mindfulness leads to prosocial behavior through awareness of one's personal goals and motivations. The present research examined the mediating effect internalized motivation on link between dispositional behavior. Undergraduate students (N = 232) completed questionnaires assessing mindfulness. Prosocial was assessed with social decision-making task. results indicated mediated facet acting suggest importance individual characteristics such as mediators Given only one mindfulness—acting awareness—was indirectly associated behavior, also indicate general measures may not be sufficiently nuanced when investigating these associations.
